Allen Transition
LOVEJOY ISD allegedly violates transition
signed agreement with Allen ISD...more
Total cost of repeat-9th graders to Lovejoy taxpayers is unclear.
In Aug 18, 2006 Email Express, Lovejoy superintendent, Ted Moore states emphatically that it does not cost the Lovejoy ISD taxpayers to educate the repeat ninth-graders and, "In the case of these retained ninth grades, their attendance will generate approximately $58,000. This is the approximate amount that we will be allowed to
keep in Lovejoy ISD as opposed to sending that same $58,000 back to Austin as recapture."
In July 19, 2007, Email Express, Mr. Moore, states that "please remember that Lovejoy ISD, not Allen ISD, will bear the cost of educating these students."
While it seems to be unclear if Lovejoy taxpayers foot the bill for educating the repeat 9th graders, it is clear taxpayers get to pay a $2962 attorney bill incurred due to Lovejoy ISD's response to an Allen ISD public information request concerning these students .
